Gi-Lab

Gi-Lab is a Laboratory Information System (LIS) that incorporates all modern technologies, addresses the complexities inherent in the in-vitro laboratory environment improving connectivity, workflow and information management. Proactive approach helps users recapture time by gaining in efficiency.

The main characteristics of Gi-Lab are as follows:

Patient profile and  Identification

Patient Profile and identification are facilitated in many different and easy ways, such as with the use of Social Security Numbers or other coding systems.

Programming the workflow

Tests are organized in worklists (controlled by medical equipment, by sample, according to the availability of the necessary reagents, scheduling, etc). This analysis is the basis of organizing the workflow in the laboratory and improves the efficiency. The system checks the type and the number of pending tests (at the daily process level), and (in conjunction with the required reagents) it proposes a plan for the test flow.

Connection with analyzers and pre-analytical systems

Gi-Lab excels in automating work processes by applying custom logic that ensures consistency and compliance with lab protocols. Extensive support for pre-analytical and analytical instruments, efficiently routes work in the lab, while speeding up the work processes and reducing human error. Full integration of quality control, including live patient data based controls, patient results delta checks, and results cross checking, supports maximal auto-validation while ensuring unwavering quality. The system can automate the procedures of samples receipt confirmation, results approval, results delivery and more.

Validation of results

Gi-Lab offers assistance in results validation by monitoring multiple parameters such as: analyzer flags, results out of reference range, QC diagrams and Delta Check, etc.

Quality Control

Gi-Lab automatically records Quality Control results. Creates Levey–Jennings plots, either for stand-alone controls, or combined (Westgard Rules). Compliant with ISO-15189 requirements.

Statistics

Collecting data to use in statistics, or summarizing the data, is only an advantage in business, if the user wants a logical approach and collects and reports data in an ethical manner. Our software provides a wide range of statistic reports and allows sets of data to be compared so the user can look for meaningful trends and changes. User reviews the data so he can reach conclusions regarding its meaning. Some of the data we provide: Value comparison between test results for individual patients, or for selected groups, Studies of fluctuations over time (medians, extreme values, exceeding limits, standard deviations, etc), Levey–Jennings diagrams, Westgard plots, turn-around time analysis and many more.

All statistical data coming from the program can also be saved in the most usual file types such as: xls, pdf, html, txt etc.

HIS Connectivity

The system can exchange data with various Hospital Information Systems (HIS) based on HL7 protocol.

Data Security

Gi-Lab offers multiple security levels. It ensures full confidentiality, integrity (accuracy), accessibility, and availability of data.

Medical Confidentiality/Personal Data

It provides absolute medical confidentiality and personal information protection through strict criteria for determining access rights at several levels.

Αuditing & User Rights

Gi-Lab offers traceability of operations and functions, so the presentation of the whole history of the work cycle is possible. Each entry, change, or deletion is recorded along with the password of the user and time stamp of the change.

User rights are defined by roles within the system. For example, there is a clear separation between the users who have the right to register results and those with rights to control and release them. Authorized users can follow the results history.

Customization

The system has a modular architecture, which is highly customizable, when it comes to management, functionality, or security. Organizational or operational differences of each laboratory are dealt with by simple system parameter adjustments.

Highly Customizable Result Forms

Support for multiple result delivery policies and methods, together with client-tailored result report formats and scheduled summary reports, means that you provide your clients with all of the information they need, wherever and whenever they need it.

The appearance of the result form can be fully customized according to the requirements of the laboratory. The design includes graphs (histograms, plots, images etc) and other elements such as the hospital logo, comments, etc.

For any type of Laboratory
